Donations Needed:
Priscilla Isabel is interning at Every Women’s Place (EWP) for her Family
Life Education Degree. EWP is a domestic violence shelter and is in need of
the following items: Gently used or new blankets, bath towels, wash cloths,
twin and full size sheets, and women’s pajamas (all sizes); and also
family-sized shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, hairbrushes, diapers (sizes
4, 5 & 6) and children’s toothbrushes.

Surf Detroit & St. John’s Youth:
We are collecting the
following items needed by the homeless in inner-city Detroit: towels; twin
sheets; socks; men's t-shirts; blue jeans; feminine hygiene; diapers of all
sizes; books for an annual used book sale, whose proceeds help the homeless
(no encyclopedias, no Reader's Digest books, no text books). Thank you to
those who have already donated brand new towels, twin sheets, socks, and
men's t-shirts,--- they are wonderful --- but gently used items are welcome,
too!

LWR Quilters:
In October, the quilters
sent 120 small and 38 large quilts to missions around the world. Over the
past year, quilters have made and given away 248 quilts. WOW! This has been
one of their best years. New ladies are welcome to join – quilters meet on
Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the church basement.

Heavenly Creations Craft Show:
There are still openings for crafters at the annual St. John's Heavenly
Creations Craft Show on Saturday, December 6. The cost for a booth is $45.
This is a great way to support Christian education in our community, and
make some money, too! For more information or to reserve a booth, call Kathy

Church Extension Fund:
Your dollars invested in various financial institutions are lent to many
different types of borrowers for a variety of purposes. Dollars invested in
the Church Extension Fund are loaned to congregations, to expand existing
facilities. What a joy to know that your invested dollars are being used for
the sake of the Gospel! CEF rates currently offered may be better than you

Rochester, Minnesota?
Trinity Lutheran Church of
Rochester offers its TLCare ministry to out of town medical guests. The
congregation strives to serve people in many ways such as prayer support, a
homemade meal, a visit from caring members, free parking in the church lot,
a comfortable place to go between appointments, and more. Let them know when

Thanksgiving/Christmas Boxes:
St. John’s Social Ministry
will be preparing Thanksgiving & Christmas Boxes for area needy families and
the following items are needed: Boxed Potatoes, Gravy, Stuffing, Corn &
Beans, fruit, jello, cake mixes, frosting, cranberries whole/sauce,
spaghetti noodles, sauce, peanut butter & jelly, bottled juice. Please
bring items to church by November 16.

HELP WANTED
Handbell Help Needed:
Needed strong muscles and legs to set-up and take down handbell tables and
equipment for the Christmas Eve service. Please contact Ruth Haupt (616)
846-7875 to volunteer or for more information. Thank you for your help with
these support activities for our Handbells.
